*If using textured cardstock for the card, I recommend using smooth cardstock for the white piece inside to write your message on. If you don’t have white cardstock on hand, you can flip the textured cardstock around and use the back side, which is usually smoother.
I used paper from the AC Cardstock Pastel collection (https://amzn.to/40qNkqI). This paper works well for layering, though it is lighter weight than papers like 12×12 Cardstock Shop Encore or Bazzill textured cardstock, so the finished card can feel a little flimsier. That being said, I like the AC Cardstock packs because they are coordinating color palettes, which make it easy to quickly pick colors that work well together for layered cards and you can get these packs in most local craft stores. AC Cardstock is also a great option if you are making a lot of cards and are sticking to a budget.
Assembly Steps
Cut the pieces on your cutting machine. You can use brown vinyl instead of cardstock for the eyes and nose to make them easier to apply.
Fold and score the light purple card base. Glue the white insert inside the card base.
Glue the acetate to the back side of the dark purple front piece that creates the outline of the bunny. Remember to peel off the protective layer on your acetate, if the brand you are using has it.
Apply the double-sided foam tape all around the bunny shape of the dark purple front outline piece on top of the acetate. Make sure that you don’t have any gaps or shaker bits might leak out. Don’t peel off the layer of paper protecting the sticky top of the foam yet!
Add your filler to the center of the bunny-shaped foam tape area.
Now carefully peel the protective layer on top side of the foam tape.
Grab the card base and hold it facing you so that it opens correctly. Now flip the card base facedown and hover it over the card front. Carefully algin the base with the card front and then press down firmly.
Make sure that you line up the base exactly before touching it down to the card front. Once the foam tape touches the base, it is stuck.Flip your card over and glue on the brown dots for the eyes and nose.
Now give the card a good shake. Enjoy!
